Formed in the northern town of Akureyri in Iceland late 2011. 'Hindurvættir' is a four piece Post-Metal band which draws influence from the Icelandic nature and seasons.
Hindurvættir released a split containing four songs in 2013 with the band Völva. In 2015 a three song EP was released titled "Ómælistóm".
